Happy and Safe New Year’s Eve to All.

In observation of New Year’s Eve, all branches of Green Bank will close at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31 and reopen on Friday, January 2 at normal hours.

Wire transactions must be received by 2 p.m. to be processed on Wednesday.

Recyclable Paper Bin For Bellaire MENS Club

Green Bank is sporting a new paper-recycling bin in the Greenbriar-branch parking lot.  Funds raised from collected paper benefit the Bellaire MENS Club – an area non-profit organization that introduces Lamar and Bellaire High School students to community service and offers college scholarships.

On Saturday Green Bank sponsored a waterless car wash–neighbors were invited to drop off bags of recyclable paper in exchange for a Mister Car Wash.  Many of the neighborhoods immediately south of the Greenbriar branch do not offer curb-side recycling.  Additionally, the city’s recycling service has been suspended as Hurricane Ike clean-up continues.

In all, about 75% of a dumpster worth of paper was collected.  7th Congressional District Candidate Michael Skelly and Houston City Council member Peter Brown were among those to recycle paper.  That’s Peter in the SMART Car below.

New Branch Openings Post-Hurricane

Green Bank is pleased to note that our branch at the Houstonian is now open. All branches except the Memorial Motor Bank are now available to assist customers with normal banking operations.As the utility crews are focusing on power restoration to homes, we are not sure when the Memorial Motor Bank will be open.MMB customers are encouraged to visit the Houstonian Branch at 109 North Post Oak Ln., (713) 316-3660.
